Below is from Letterpunch Design on etsy.com - it's a retro train punch card save the date.

Below is from The Stylish Scribe on etsy.com - boarding pass themed save the dates with corresponding invitation and RSVP card.

Chose Your Ceremony Location Carefully

I know this video has been circulating around the internet for a while now. But I thought I'd share *just* in case you hadn't seen it. This is one of worst things that could happen on your wedding day. I feel terrible for the bride. If it happened to me Matt would be dead. Enjoy...

Want to just pick up and travel the globe

I've got just the inspiration you need! The Lost Girls are a threesome of gals who left their New York City lives (bye bye jobs, apartments, families and boyfriends!) and embarked on a yearlong round-the-world journey. How amazing is that?

Check out their blog to read about their exciting trip, get some travel inspiration, find some cool travel links and read about other cool Lost Girls around the world. You'll also get some amazing honeymoon ideas from their travels (um, Bali, New Zealand, Australia, Kenya, Brazil, India, Thailand, anyone?).

Oh and you might even spot a familiar face -- The Lost Girls did a really great feature on yours truly yesterday. Check it out here!

Friday's post!!!

So I promised my blog stalkers (okay, my mom..) that I would do a fun blog post every Friday. I prepared all week for this post. Okay, that's a lie. Where did this week go? However, a promise is a promise, so here's my Friday post..a recent pic of me. I look hot in a swimsuit, no? Okay, so I didn't say say HOW recent it would be... Next Friday's post will be better! I promise.

Picture a Day - Day 86

Indulge me a moment as I make you all incredibly jealous.
For you see, I have purchased that creme de la creme of cookies. So rare it can only be found once a month and then it's gone, like a mist in the night. And at $3.50 a box for oh like 10 cookies they had better be the best in the world.
Curiosity runs through your veins I can tell. Well feast your eyes upon these.

Heaven help me, but I was a Girl Scout once (and by once I mean for about 5-6 years). It was not a fun experience.

One year the leader clearly had it out for me as she'd single me out to reprimand me for the smallest or most made up things and make me go sit off by myself, another was so lazy we'd basically just play Red Rover the whole time and then go home.

To pour salt into the wound my father was involved with the Boy Scouts at the time so I got to witness all of the cool stuff they got to do, like rappelling, learning how to start a fire, archery, camping. While we sat in a little run down building making recycled paper. Woo-bloody-hoo.

And oh those cookies, if you sold 1,000 boxes you may get something neat like a cap. But you'd better be bringing in some serious dough, we're talking drug runner money, before you'll get anything really fun and useful like a trip or a bike or a t-shirt.

I gave up shilling when I hung up my green sash (yeah I made it all the way to Junior) and have not sold or peddled a thing since. No candles for a band trip, no ad space for Block & Bridle. I just can't take that horrible slimy feeling you get wandering through a neighborhood in the dead of winter knocking on peoples doors knowing that they're inside doing their best to hide from you

But it's still hard to give up that cookie crack and feeling for the poor things I guess I'm willing to shell out $7.00 for a couple boxes if only so they don't lose their toes battling to each door in January.

Was anyone else a Girl Scout? Did you have to sell your soul for a few boxes of Tagalongs or Samoas? Better yet, anyone remember when those things only used to cost $2.50 a box?

NWJ Bridal Fair

For all those brides-to-be living in Kwa-Zulu Natal, the annual NWJ Bridal Fair wil be held from 6-8 March at the Durban Exhibition Centre. Tickets cost R40.

I have been to two Bridal Fairs, both at shopping centres and found them to be very useful. There are suppliers from all over the province specialising in every facet of weddings. Although I have booked most of my major details, I am still deciding on a colour scheme, the decor, the cake, the bridesmaid’s dresses and a million other details.

I think that the best part about a bridal fair is the fact that many suppliers set up displays: tables complete with flowers, candles, crockery and cutlery; spectacular dresses; invitations and favours. Many of the exhibitors are happy to take your details and send you extra information after the show, too.

I had such fun walking around with my fiance and bridesmaids totally surrounded by everything wedding. My upcoming nuptials felt real for the first time at the first bridal fair and I have been beside myself with excitement ever since!

So, if you’re in Durbs from 6-8 March, don’t miss the NWJ Bridal Fair! The times are Friday 6 March: 17:00 - 22:00; Saturday 7 March 09:00 -17:00 and Sunday 8 March 09:00 - 17:00.

Other Bridal Fairs happening in KZN soon are:

The Midlands Mall Bridal Show - 23-26 April 2009

The Tala Bridal Show - 13 & 14 June 2009

The Heritage Market Bridal Fair - 25 & 26 July 2009

Wedding Inspiration

bs_0386Bronwen & Sean
28 November 2008
Toadbury Hall

Bronwen and Sean we blessed with wonderful weather. Toadbury?s immaculate and picturesque venue with its emerald lawns provided a perfect setting for a wedding fit for royalty.  After months of careful preparations, plans, back-up plans, reflections and anticipation, the wedding day has arrived.

Bronwen?s taste and style can be further seen in her choice of decor and flowers. She chose chocolate brown and dusty pink as her wedding palette. Everything from the choice of floral arrangements, gift boxes with personalised ribbon to name cards? everything was simply beautiful.

Bronwen made a stunning bride. She is beautiful inside and out.  She looked radiant, happy and spectacular.

Bronwen?s wedding gown was perfect for her petite frame. Her hair and make-up worked incredibly well to accentuate her beauty. The dainty tiara Bronwen wore, brought out the true inner princess.

The ceremony was emotional and touching. As the vows were exchanged in front of the family and friends, Bronwen and Sean looked truly serene. This was their day, their special moment, and their memory. The new chapter in their lives has began.

After the ceremony, the guests were treated to sumptuous canapés and cocktails. Sean?s passion for racing cars was evident by the red racing car parked outside the chapel. Bronwen chose a cake topper to honour Sean?s interest.

Sean requested to have band ?Denim? at the wedding. This was a surprise for the guests. The name of the band was kept a secret until their performance! After months of preparation and wonderful work on behalf of Season5, the band was a hit at the wedding.

The dancing went on until early hours of the morning.
This was truly a spectacular wedding.
